Boarding

We provide a loving home-away-from-home for dogs staying with us for boarding or residential training.

We offer a very limited number of places, so it is best to book well in advance, especially for holiday periods.

Boarding: We offer boarding for all breeds, and have a facility unlike any other. Most facilities have lock down periods enforced overnight, often wire to wire enclosures, and these can contribute to a high noise, high stress environment. We are very different, with just 18 rooms, all private, no wire between dogs, and no stressful lockdown times. Instead, we have large, private rooms, all with their own permanent, 24/7 access to outside runs as well.

Classic Suites Our classic accommodation provides spacious rooms with trampoline beds, shared accommodation with access to large outdoor runs 24/7.

  • Long daily Playtime sessions for a happy, relaxed dog

  • Individual love and attention from experienced staff

  • Ziwi treats

  • Toys changed daily

  • Ability to toilet outside on artificial turf whenever needed, not just when let out for a break.

  • Quality food

  • Air conditioned shared rooms

  • Weekly play videos (for dogs staying more than a week), and extra photos available when booking.

Pricing

All our rooms have their own 24/7 access inside and out, nice beds, toys, food and tons of love and care. And no wire to wire runs, or lockdown times. All dogs have nice long play times, toys changed daily and tons of pets and love.

Booking: Please phone us on 0455097088, so we can discuss your dog’s individual needs and dates required. Due to the demand, there is a $200 per dog non-refundable deposit for all bookings, ($400 for peak time bookings) which we can take with a card payment at the time the booking

Training: We can provide training for your dog, with limited spaces available for this. Your dog will receive their personally customised training program, with our very experienced trainers, and a video of your dog’s progress before they come home. We also offer a training handover, so you can learn to work with your dog, and understand new commands and behaviours. We link your training requirements to your accommodation wishes, tailoring this to your requirements, and your dogs abilities. Call us on 0455097088 to discuss your requirements and to make your booking for residential training.

Health Retreats: If your dog has been using their big brown eyes to get more food than is healthy, then a stay with us may be just what they need. We start with a vet consult, assistance with diet and an exercise program. With dogs who are prone to go overweight, a health retreat and ongoing weight management can help avert expensive medical and surgical outcomes from being overweight. Please phone for more details.

Special Care Guests: We are able to assist with special care requirements, whether post operative care, aged care or palliative.

Our Accommodation

Location - Our guests come from Sunshine coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Toowoomba areas. We provide our Taxi service twice weekly to our meeting point in Sinnamon Park, near Jindalee off the Centenary Highway, also Bundamba. We do collections and drop offs on Mondays and Fridays except when there is a public holiday, in which case it is the closest day to that (usually a Tuesday or Thursday). We are located on 250 acres near Toowoomba which is why we dont have the lock down requirements of most facilities. We are open for drop offs and collections Monday to Friday 12-1. Saturdays incur an after hours charge and we are closed on Sundays for collections and drop offs.

Accommodation- In many commercial kennels, dogs are kennelled in small areas, often in wire mesh enclosures so they dont have privacy from dogs that could be threatening through enclosures, which results in a very noisy, stressful environment. Cider Fields is very different from that. All our rooms are air-conditioned, spacious and comfortable, and all have permanent access to outside runs. We dont use wire mesh, so dogs feel comfortable having a private space. We are careful to reward quiet, calm behaviour in dogs, and understand that dogs are always being trained. Tons of love and a top diet are across all our accommodation options. As a result, we have a much quieter kennel environment, reducing the stress on your friend. These aspects are for all accommodation. We include things such as toys, and if owners are happy with it, a raw chew bone such as kangaroo sternum or emu rib. We dont just run them for a very short time. Our guests have lots of play time.

Luxury Rooms: Our Luxury Rooms are a home away from home. A private space with a similar sized friend. Watch this little MOVIE of a pup enjoying his luxury room.

Keep Updated: We provide a complimentary video weekly for dogs staying more than a week, usually on a Tuesday. An additional Pet Postcard is available during the week, and can be popped onto your booking. You are welcome to come and visit our facility during the week, or we can facetime or whatsapp.

Music: Calm Radio is played soothingly as background music during the night. During the day there may be a little classical or talk back.

Tons of Daily Love and Attention from our knowledgeable carers. Our staff have qualifications from NDTF trainer, vet nurse and Animal Studies, and are very passionate about dogs and their wellbeing. Your dog will receive lots of cuddles and games while they are here.

Group Play Sessions: with dogs of similar size and temperament supervised by our experienced carers. Your dog can enjoy playtime with balls, or just sit and be petted.

24 Hour Vet Services on call if needed

Diet, Care and Bonuses

Premium Food every day (Lyka fresh food, Big Dog Raw, Royal Canin and Stay Loyal Kibble). For short term stays we prefer to use the food your dog is used to.

Health & Weight Checks: Nose to tail health check and weigh in on arrival and departure. For longer term dogs this is repeated frequently in between.

Doggie Spa: Bath and blow dry for all dogs on week day departures.

Toys Galore: Toys available all day. These are changed daily with clean, different toys.

Feeding Frequency: We work on best practice for dogs in terms of feeding frequency. If dogs are fed too frequently, it interferes with digestion. Dogs have not evolved to eat multiple times a day as adults. Please read the following research article on feeding frequency. The current research findings are that “Controlling for sex, age, breed, and other potential confounders, we found that dogs fed once daily rather than more frequently had lower mean scores on a cognitive dysfunction scale, and lower odds of having gastrointestinal, dental, orthopedic, kidney/urinary, and liver/pancreas disorders. Therefore, we find that once-daily feeding is associated with better health in multiple domains”. We feed adult dogs once a day, unless for health reasons. If you wish for your dog to be fed more frequently, we can do that, at a small cost for each additional feed. Dogs up to 6 months of age are fed more frequently.

Pet Transfers

Our pet taxi goes to Brisbane on Fridays and Mondays each week. This saves you the drive out to us, although you are welcome to come and drop off if you wish during business days. There is an out of hours pickup and drop off fee of $40 if Saturday Cider Field drop offs/pick ups are required.

Testimonial - Training for Keeshund

I could not recommend Cider Fields training more highly - they have been sanity savers! We have used the boarding in training, home training, and phone consultations and all have been very useful and given good results (where previous trainers have not). We have a very strong willed Keeshund puppy that was starting to show aggression (snapping) and struggling with toilet training. Since working with the team, all aggression has stopped and toileting is significantly improving. The team uses excellent evidence-based, positive training techniques which are really effective and kind to the animal. The support they provide is excellent. We are much more confident in managing puppy’s behaviour. They show genuine care for the dogs and I would encourage working with them for any canine concerns!

Please feel free to use this with my name wherever you like!

Best wishes
