Colours of dogs may change over time. This cannot always be predicted or tested for, and we make no claim as to a particular puppy staying a particular colour
Colours of our dogs include the following:
Red- Black Nose, reddish in colour.
Caramel - Liver Nose, caramel coloured
Chocolate
Chocolate
Apricot - Black nose, lighter than red
Silver - Silvers start black, and over time
Black and White Parti
Champagne Parti
Tri- coloured
Black - and do they get hotter than other colours?
It is often thought that black dogs must get hotter than other colours, however research on coat colour in dogs shows that the colour of a dogs’ coat doesn’t effect their response to heat. We also find that black coats stay black and don’t generally fade. They are always stunning and shiny and beautiful looking dogs. Very easy to keep clean too. Because of the medium brown eyes, these also and framed really nicely by their coats, and easy to see. Modelling for us is Ebony, who is a gentle standard sized girl, who will have her first litter in 2020. Adult fleece coat after clipping.
Cream / Light Caramel
Lola is one of our future mums. She is a beautiful cream colour. Any shade of cream is acceptable, and noses can be black or rose.
Chocolate
Chocolate can stay dark, as in this photo, but sometimes lighten to a nice Cafe Latte. We haven’t found a genetic test for the fading gene in chocolates. This girl has a fleece coat.
Cafe Latte
This dog is cafe latte and has a wool coat. She would have started life chocolate and lightened over time.
Silver
Silver pups start out black, but usually show evidence of becoming silver quite early. We could pick it in Sterling by the time he was a few weeks old. His father was silver. Silver is one of the rare colours. Fleece coat
Abstract
Korra is a chocolate abstract. Abstract is where white is covering less than half the body. It is sometimes just on the chest or feet. Korra has a fleece coat, clipped in this photo.
Red
Red coloured dogs have black noses, and range in the depth of colour. Reds can fade as the dog grows older. It is a rare colour group. This photo shows a puppy coat on Luna.
Phantom Coloured
Phantoms have a solid base colour, in this case chocolate, with clearly marked areas of a second colour, above each eye, the sides of the muzzle, the legs, below the tail etc.
Sable Phantom
This little pup carries genes for both phantom and sable. Sable refers to the black tips on a lighter coat underneath, such as on a fox. Phantom refers to the light colour on the legs and close to the eyes. You can see the dark hair tips, this is sable colouring, and will be removed when puppy is clipped as the coat grows. this will leave a lighter coat showing. The dark ears and light caramel on legs and close to eyes are likely to remain. And his white chest and ribbon.
Tri-Coloured Phantom Parti
Laura is a very unusual colour. She has black, red/caramel and white. The white covers more than half her body, so she is parti-coloured, and the colouring around her eyes and ears supports her genetics which class her also a phantom. Laura is from our line of working poodles, rather than show poodles.
Caramel
Similar tones to red, but lighter and can have a liver nose.
