bringing joy to your home:
Pups bring many years of joy and love to your home. It is a long-term decision, and you need to make sure it is the right time and pup for you. We help guide you through this process. If the timing is right, and you are going to provide a great home for one of our pups, we look forward to helping you. Please contact us if you would like us to call or if you have any questions about bringing a puppy into your home.
NON-SHEDDING coats:
Our fleece and occasionally wool-coated pups available, both of which are suitable for people with dog hair allergies. Our multi-generation dogs dont leave hair around the house, and if you give a black dog a hug with a white shirt, you dont end up with hairs on you, so virtually non shedding. Because of this and lacking the ‘doggie’ smell even when wet, they make wonderful family members.
Puppy Parents:
Our mums and dads are in guardian homes from when they are a few months old, so other than coming up to us for very few litters, they live with their forever families, giving them the very best of love and attention right through their lives, and mums only have 2-3 litters before retiring.
how pups are raised:
How a pup is bred and raised makes a world of difference to the pup, its temperament, long term health and how quickly the pup settles into your home. For example if pups are raised in homes or on concrete, they learn to toilet inside. With our practice, pups are going outside to toilet by the time they are about 5 weeks of age. Combined with error free house training when they come to you, the house-training period is usually reduced to just a few days.
Pups start with Biosensor training at 3 days of age, and continue with much of the Puppy Culture program. This ensures pups are confident, happy, calm pups when they come to you.
We aim for very best practice with all our pups, who receive much more time, professionalism, expertise and care than is generally given to pups. We have a well-qualified, trainer working with us full time. We are here to help with questions. Whether you have had puppy for a week or ten years, we love being kept up to date and seeing them develop and become much treasured family members.
Health Tested Parents:
We only breed from thoroughly tested parents whose own genetic reports will ensure the genetic health of pups by heritability. Parents are hip and elbow scored, and you will receive copies of tests emailed to you, with the puppy invoice. We only breed from top quality, healthy parents.
Hormone Sparing Sterilisation:
As a responsible breeder, we aim to do our very best to ensure that pups can grow and develop to their full potential, without health being impacted from early age desexing on one hand, and ensuring that pups are not inadvertantly bred on the other hand. There are a lot of differing opinions and ideologies around desexing, and we aim to do what is best for the dog, based on current research, and vet’s recommendation. Please read our hormone sparing sterilisation page for links to research and more information.
Fast Track Training:
Our pups require a lot of early work to develop confidence, socialising, and an understanding of how to ask, and learn. Our young pups learn quickly and we have a trainer working with us full time. We are able to offer individual early training to pups before they leave for just $295. This includes 7 private sessions with our trainer, plus an in-home FaceTime or Whatsapp training handover session, making it super easy for your pup to settle in to their new home, with all the early skills in place. Pups are introduced to luring to place, sit, loose lead walking, acceptance of clip station, crate training, leading and recall. Pups go our through a side opening puppy door to toilet outside on artificial turf runs, which helps a lot with house training when puppy comes home. They have also had positive, short introductions to crate training. This gives you a great head-start. However, with any dog, you will need to continue training when puppy arrives. Pups are all different, so some need to focus on certain aspects more than others.

'Hello, my name is Georgie Lee and I am a 3rd Vet Science student.
During June 2022, I completed a 5-day placement at Cider Fields. During this period, I learned a tremendous amount about the management of a boarding facility, the specifics of dog breeding and the importance of grooming and cleanliness of a dog's ears.
I was able to interact with many different dogs of different ages. These ranged from week-old puppies to more mature dogs and I was able to see how the animal management and food changed accordingly.
I was very impressed by how clean, efficient and organised the facility was. The scheduling of the daily tasks and activities was also done very well.
My hosts, Sonia and Max were extremely accommodating and welcoming while I stayed with them during my placement and this resulted in a fantastic overall experience.
I would definably recommend this facility for anyone wanting to learn about grooming, breeding and the overall management of a breeding business. It was a very well-rounded and eye-opening experience.’
Have a lovely night!
Sincerely,
Georgie Lee

Hello Sonia and the team at Cider Field.
What can I say but thank you, thank you, thank you for my beautiful Sophie.
Sophie came into our lives 4 weeks ago and I cannot find the words to express how much joy she has given us. She is perfect. Although I have never had a pup before I did have quite high expectations but she has exceeded these in every way and continues to do so. Friends and family cannot believe that she is only 16 weeks old and that she has only been with us for 4 weeks. She is very well behaved, has the most gentle nature, but also has spirit. She is a quick learner (I am quite sure she understands every word I say). She has been exposed to a lot of different people, dogs, situations and experiences since we have had her and has handled these with ease. Her manners are impeccable.
I have no doubt that her breeding together with all the early work provided by you and the team have made her the puppy she is today. Again thank you.
Vicki
